SOMOS PAPEL

Mirar a la cara y pensar en archivos suena a un delirio distópico; sin embargo, la realidad nos golpea inclementes cuando nos demuestra que esa es la manera en la que se mueve nuestro mundo.
Componer una geografía de identidades reducidas al trazo térmico de una máquina –sin color, sin firma, sin huella– solo es una reinterpretación cruda de ese borramiento que empieza por los papeles, pero que avanza en lenguaje, cuerpo y trato. Ser migrante se vuelve condición de sospecha, y el rostro, apenas percibido, se olvida, se deshumaniza.
Aunque los papeles puedan vencerse, el derecho a ser mirado no debería tener fecha de vencimiento.

WE ARE PAPER

To look someone in the face and think of archives may sound like a dystopian delusion; yet reality strikes us mercilessly when it reveals that this is how our world operates.
To compose a geography of identities reduced to the thermal trace of a machine—without color, without signature, without fingerprint—is but a raw reinterpretation of an erasure that begins with documents but extends to language, body, and treatment. To be a migrant becomes a condition of suspicion, and the face, barely perceived, is forgotten, dehumanized.
Although papers may expire, the right to be seen should never come with an expiration date.
